Large Healthcare Cooperative Chooses EmpowerID To Manage Client Identities And Web Application Security

A major healthcare cooperative with over 1,400 hospitals and 25,000 non-acute healthcare organizations nationwide has chosen EmpowerID from The Dot Net Factory to securely manage their clients' access to their business applications. They chose User Manager, Group Manager and Exchange Manager from the EmpowerID Suite to provide role driven access to their web-based applications to improve application security and to provide a common user access interface employing EmpowerID's powerful Metadirectory and Federation Services.

The healthcare cooperative serves a diverse client base, including hospitals, imaging centers, home health care agencies, and pharmacies and offers services that include financial analysis, clinical improvement programs, public policy advocacy, and supply chain management. These client services are supported by a diverse group of web applications that use several user management tools which will be replaced by EmpowerID. Once deployed, EmpowerID will offer a single point of consolidation for user profile management and access security. A key criterion in the selection of the EmpowerID Suite was its use of .NET standard technologies and its ability to be easily customized using a visual workflow designer.

EmpowerID's User Manager, Group Manager and Exchange Manager modules provide the ability to automate the provisioning and to securely delegate management of new users, groups and mailboxes. EmpowerID's Manager modules ship with hundreds of prebuilt workflows that replace Microsoft ADUC functionality with automated processes that dramatically cut the cost of administrating users, groups, applications in Active Directory and other connected directories, whether hosted locally, remotely, or "in the cloud".

All of the activities in the Manager modules can be customized using Dot Net Workflow, a secure workflow platform offered as part of the EmpowerID Suite and built on Microsoft's Windows Workflow Foundation. Dot Net Workflow offers modern and clean graphical user interfaces built both for the web and in Windows Presentation Foundation.
